It’s Shah Rukh versus Shah Rukh

Shah Rukh Khan is in for a double whammy. That’s the buzz in the town ever since the first look of Don 2 hit the screens.

Making a huge impact instantly, it has left many wondering whether it was indeed a right move from Shah Rukh to allow the teaser to be launched when his Ra.One is a mere 100 days away.
“It is baffling to see Don 2 making such an early entry,” says a filmmaker on condition of anonymity, adding, “Both these films are very similar to each other. Other than the fact that Shah Rukh plays the protagonist in the films, both Ra.One as well as Don 2 are action thrillers. They are cool, boast of some stylised shots, have been filmed at foreign locations and showcase Shah Rukh in a metrosexual avtar. I feel though that Don 2 could have waited till Ra.One was out of the way.”
Typically Shah Rukh starrers are spaced by at least a year and when he originally started work on these two films, the idea was to keep the them distanced by a good enough duration. “However with Ra. One seeing an extended schedule and the film still being shot, there was
no other choice for Shah Rukh but to grab the Diwali slot,” a source adds.
