It’s a tale of three states for Sajid
While his production 2 States is making good progress, in real life it’s a tale of three states for producer Sajid Nadiadwala. Currently, three films under his banner are being shot in Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab and Gujarat respectively.
“Having three films on the floors simultaneously is a big deal for an independent producer. Also, all the films are being shot outside the urban comfort zone of Mumbai, which is impressive,” says an industry insider.
It was the storyline of the films that prompted the makers to look beyond Mumbai. “Imtiaz Ali’s Highway is a road movie that is being shot in Pahalgaon (J&K). They have already covered a good part of North India by now. A huge portion of 2 States is being shot in the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad,” informs a source. Then there is Sabbir Khan’s untitled venture which is being shot in Patiala.
Managing it all from Mumbai, Sajid says, “I am blessed to have such teams. I don’t have to worry when all of them are doing so well independently.”
