Jhankaar Beats to ring once again

When Pritish Nandy announced the sequel to 2003’s musical hit Jhankaar Beats three months ago, nobody took it seriously. After all, director Sujoy Ghosh is getting ready to release Kahaani now and the stars of Jhankaar Beats have also moved on to various other things.
But Ghosh has just clarified that the sequel is very much on. “Yes, the sequel is happening for sure. In fact, the draft of the script is also ready and it's just a matter of logistics being put together,” confirms a well-placed source.
The story, it seems, will continue from where the first one ended and work is expected to begin once Sujoy wraps up Kahaani by next month. “Yes, the sequel is certainly on though some minor tweaking is required around the storyline. The cast will also remain the same by and large though I can’t confirm details. Currently, I’m neck deep into Kahaani and will look into Jhankaar Beats only after March,” he says.
