John bends rules, but only for friend

Everyone in the film industry is aware that John Abraham — just like Aamir Khan — doesn’t attend any award shows.
From local functions to the glorified international events, John has consciously stayed away from the awards arena. So it was a pleasant surprise when John showed up for a recently held international award ceremony in Durban.
“John made a rare appearance for an award ceremony, but only because of his friendship with the owner of the organising company, Kedar (or KD as he is fondly called). The two go back a long way. John flew all the way to South Africa for a few minutes’ appearance just for his friend,” a spokesperson shared with us.
However, John turned down the mega bucks offered to him to perform on stage at the event. He walked in minutes after the show commenced and left soon too. “But John lived up to the commitment he had made to KD and that made a difference,” the spokesperson added.
Currently riding high on the success of Madras Cafe, this was John’s first interaction with his fans in South Africa. Like Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn, it seems John too is among those B-towner’s who ensure that his friends are never let down — even if it means bending his rules.
