John follows Aamir

Everybody knows about Aamir Khan’s anti-award ceremony policy. And now joining the bandwagon is none other than John Abraham who has declared that he won’t be a part of any award function in the future. This is not the first time John has decided to take the road less taken — after all he dared to become Bollywood’s first ever-male sex symbol and we all saw the results. Even as a producer, he’s not afraid to taking risks with newcomers and unconventional subjects.
But then he is also someone who is not even half as aloof from the industry as Aamir Khan — in fact his friendly nature is one of his biggest USPs. So his sudden decision to stay away from awards have expectedly raised a few eyebrows. But an unperturbed John says, “It’s my own belief and I have taken a conscious decision to stay away from the rigmarole.” This would also mean that he won’t have a chance to perform on stage anymore. But that seems to be the least of John’s worries. “I am happy acting and making movies. The real award and revenues will come from the quality of films I make. My true fans will watch my films, the rest I leave to destiny,” he says.
