John is the new ‘don’

John Abraham is, for the first time in his career, playing a negative role. In Shootout At Wadala, John will be playing the role of a don, but is upset with the media for already comparing the role he has essayed to Shah Rukh’s title act in Don.
Saying that he is very uncomfortable when someone compares his performances with those of other actors, John urges fans to rate his role for its own merit. “I’d rather work to the best of my ability, as I’m in no position to compare myself or the characters I play with other actors from the industry,” he says.
Trying to decode the media’s obsession with such rumours about him, he adds, “I’m not a controversial guy. So from time to time, something has to be written about me,” he laughs.
