John stirs up comment controversy
Everyone knew that Force was going to see John Abraham land quite a few punches — physical and verbal. Now it seems that some of those punches are going to land John, and his film, in a whole lot of trouble. It was recently revealed that John’s tough cop character in the film opens quite a Pandora’s box with diatribes on how powerful lobbies within the upper strata of society shield people involved in drugs. In the film, John also has an intense monologue where he questions the amount of money the government is spending on (26/11 Mumbai terror attacks accused) Ajmal Kasab’s security.
Industry watchers have said that the revelations about John’s dialogues in Force could spark off a controversy, but John himself says that there is nothing preachy about the film. “It is a hard-hitting film, but it is also a commercial film,” John says. “But are any of the comments in essence, wrong? My character is only talking about what is wrong. If the rich and powerful are a part of the problem, then let that be said. And by the way, for how long are we going to feed Kasab?”
