John told to shape up or ship out

Ever since the first look of Force was released in January, John Abraham’s physique has become a talking point. As fit as the hunk generally is, Force required him to beef up some more. Now, director Nishikant Kamat has revealed that he insisted that John bulk up for the role.

“The scripts demanded that he have a very good body and I told him to shape up,” Nishikant says. “To his credit, he ensured that he crossed all boundaries when it came to his fitness and developed the huge build that was needed. I have to say it suits him.” However, the director added that it is John’s acting that is the real highlight of the film.
