John ups his ante for Race 2
Trust John Abraham to go to any lengths to mould his body to look the part. The actor, who was sporting a lean physique for almost a year had to undergo rigorous training to beef up for a cage fight sequence in his next film Race 2.
A fleet of high profile trainers was flown in from Vietnam to aid Johnny boy in his fitness mission. Recalling the battle, the actor says, “What made it more grueling was the fact that I had to survive on a liquid diet for one whole week. The look is a tricky combination of beefy and lean.” John, who just wrapped up the scene, admits that it was one of the toughest sequences he has ever worked on.
His spokesperson said, “The training put a lot of strain on his mind and body. It reached to an extent where his eyes would be watering.” The heavyduty action scene turned out to be a costly affair for producer Ramesh Taurani with the fighters and stuntmen flown in from South Africa. While action has always been John’s forte, this was the first time he was working at par with Hollywood standards.
The film is nearly complete and John will have to change his look again for his next film. But all he says is: Bring it on!
