Joker’s winning moment
Even before its release Joker has gone where no other Bollywood film ever has. This Farah Khan-Shirish Kunder film happens to be the only film to have appeared in the New York Times as one of the most awaited films of the year. An elated Farah said, “It was a big moment for us because we haven’t even started on the promotions for Joker. It’s an achievement to get written about without any PR involved.”
After the debacle of their past films — Shirish’s Jaaneman and Farah’s Tees Maar Khan — one can understand their enthusiasm. Joker, Farah says, will be all of one hour, 40 minute-long. “I think the reason why a prestigious publication such as the New York Times chose to mention Joker is because it’s not your regular, run-of-the-mill Bollywood product,” she adds. The couple is confident that their film will be able to break clutter and set a trend.
No kidding!
