Kat goes grunge, but safe

Going grunge has been long associated with messy hair, kohl-rimmed eyes and a generally insouciant attitude. But Katrina Kaif has made the grunge look her own with her upcoming film Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. Of course, the look is well in keeping with her rockstar act for the film.
“This is a first for Katrina and she has carried it off pretty well,” says a fellow actor from Mere Brother…“Opting for something as niche as the grunge look is always dicey since you don’t know how the audience will respond. Thankfully, this one has quite a balance of the desi and videshi flavours.”
Katrina may be getting all the kudos for her style, but she is not the only Bollywood actress to have experimented with the grunge look. “Earlier, Aishwarya Rai sported a similar look in the song Dhoom Macha Le very successfully,” says a Bollywood stylist. “Kareena Kaoor too had worked the look in Tashan, although she got more attention for her bikinis. Compared to them, Katrina’s look is much safer.”
