Katrina not comfy baring her midriff
In these days of actresses willing to don skimpy bikinis to up their sizzle quotient, Katrina Kaif claims that she was uncomfortable shooting for the song Sheila ki jawani in Tees Maar Khan. Was she wearing a bikini, you may ask. The answer is no, she was wearing a choli with a dhoti — something similar to the ghagra choli girls wear during festivals and weddings.
She claims she did not anticipate her midriff being bared in the costume. She says, “I have never done that and I was not comfortable. Farah Khan paid a lot of attention to the costume and stuck to her vision. It’s very common with Indian girls though. They wear a ghagra choli and sarees during weddings where their midriff is exposed. I had not done anything so bold before, so I carried my shawl everywhere and managed to do it. Farah has shot it beautifully and I had a wonderful time. The song has become a hit and I guess I will be performing it throughout the year now.”
So does that mean she has done an item number along the lines of Kajra re and Munni badnaam hui? She clarifies, “I play the wannabe actress Aliya Khan who gets to do a tacky Bhojpuri kind of film. I am the heroine who does this number in the tacky movie.” Well, if it is Kats, we are sure she will bring her touch of class to the song, even if it is a makebelieve tacky movie within the main film.
