King Khan doesn’t want to rule H’wood
The likes of Anil Kapoor are making ripples in Hollywood, but for the industry’s reigning badshah, Shah Rukh Khan, home is where the heart is. Shah Rukh says that he is unlikely to find any good roles in the West and would rather just stay put here. “I don’t have some special talent that Hollywood would accept unless they want to insert a forty-year-old, brown skinned, not very good looking character in their film. I don’t even know Kung-fu,” he said, tongue in cheek.
On a more serious note, he added that he would much rather take them to a global audience, something that would be possible in good old Bollywood. “I think my dream is to make a Hindi film that the world watches and my wish would always be that Hollywood would distribute the prints and showcase it and nominate it for the Oscars,” he added.
But, as with every rule, there was soon an exception. “I have been offered a few films which I don’t like to talk about because that creates a sensation. If Angelina Jolie or Megan Fox calls me there (to Hollywood), I would surely consider it,” he said.
For SRK, the choice between being big fish in a small pond and a small fish in a big pond is easy to make. Unless, of course, Megan Fox was to share the big pond.
