Kya Cool... will go PG-13
The ribald humour in Kya Cool Hain Hum may have propelled the Riteish Deshmukh-Tusshar Kapoor starrer to box office success, but its sequel may not follow the same path. Says a trade source, “When Ekta (Kapoor) took on writer-director Sachin Yardi for the sequel, she gave clear instructions that the film was to be fun in a youthful sort of way.”
One reason for the dictum may be that Ekta has forayed into filmmaking in a serious way, with Love Sex Aur Dhoka, Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai and The Dirty Picture now a part of the Balaji stable.
Riteish confirms that the content of the sequel has been under discussion. “Yes, there has been talk on how to take the franchise forward in terms of its content. The entire adult humour aspect has been looked into with regard to the kind of distance we want to travel. Accordingly, a call has been taken on how much to extend or hold back the jokes.”
