A long wait for Inder, just to work with AK
Akshay Kumar may recently have been in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons — what with close friend Sajid Khan making a dig at his expense, to disastrous effect. But Akki seems unperturbed and unfazed by the incident. The actor is busy juggling his acting assignments with a very hands-on approach at his production house, trying to increase the number of films in its stable.
Unfortunately, one offshoot of Akki’s busy schedule has been the indefinite postponement of a film he promised to do with Dil director Inder Kumar. Apparently, Akki’s packed diary means an over 18-month delay for the commencement of Inder’s film. Inder too, is incidentally busy putting the final touches on Grand Masti. “Eighteen months is a very long time to have to wait,” our source pointed out. “Waiting for that long means the film would only go on the floors in 2015!”
Having a viable actor like Akki in his film would of course strengthen Inder’s project — which means he may not mind the wait. But will Akshay still be interested in the project after such a long passage of time?
In the meantime, Akshay and co-producer Ashvini Yardi are working on a film based on veteran Marathi actor Dada Kondke’s life. It still isn’t clear if Akki will star in the project.
