Madras Cafe gets U/A certificate
Shoojit Sircar’s much-awaited film Madras Cafe has been given a U/A certificate by the censor board, without any cuts. The film is a political thriller shot in the backdrop of the Sri Lankan civil wars of the early 1990s.
Despite being set against a controversial backdrop, Madras Cafe has been able to escape the clutches of the censor board.
“I am happy that the censor board has passed our film without any cuts. This is a very special film for us and am glad the audiences will get to experience this political thriller soon,” says an ecstatic Shoojit.
John Abraham, who is the co-producer and lead actor of the film has also been beaming since he heard the news. He was overheard telling a co-actor that the clearance from the censor board is the beginning of a new change in the film industry. We hope so too.
