Meet Babli badmaash

Item numbers now have the potential to make audiences flock to the movie theatres, and considerably boost the success of a film. A case in point would be numbers like Munni Badnam Hui and Chikni Chameli. Small wonder then that Ekta Kapoor is going all out to ensure that she gives Priyanka Chopra a truly dhamaakedaar item number in Sanjay Gupta’s Shootout At Wadala. And for this, Team Balaji have created not one or two, but 11 song options for PeeCee to choose from.
The buzz in B’town is that Ekta has spent over six months ensuring that this particular number is better than the best. This will also be PeeCee’s first such high profile item number and understandably, she wants it to be truly standout.
Of the many versions of the song that have been presented to her so far, our sources say that PeeCee instantly fell in love with one called Babli Badmaash Hai. PeeCee asked for alterations to the song eight times before settling on the final version, and she was personally involved in every detail.
“We’ll be shooting for the song from today. It is going to be the chartbuster of the year, I assure you,” said Ekta. Ready for Badmaash Babli?
