Mimicry gets him brownie points
Everybody knows how newcomer Ranveer Singh hit the ground running with Band Baaja Baaraat, but few know the story of how Aditya Chopra placed his trust on the youngster when the latter came knocking on his door.
Turns out that it was Ranveer’s mimicry and on the spot improvisation skills that did the trick on the Chopras. Recently, the actor dropped in at the Yash Raj studios for a meeting with the creative team of Ladies v/s Ricky Behl where Aditya was also present.
“During the meeting Ranveer broke into an impromptu mimicry act. Usually, actors and aspirants are known to play it safe by mimicking Sanjeev Kumar or Suneil Shetty- stars with distinct mannerisms. But Ranveer took his act a notch above with his take on Madhuri Dixit, Sridevi and even Juhi Chawla,” says the eyewitness. Apparently, the Madhuri- jhatkas and Sridevi-mannerisms that followed had everybody in splits.
Ranveer seems to have picked up the tips and tricks of Bollywood real fast.
“He knows when and where to show up and what to say or do. He does nothing on impulse, even though it seems like that. His sole aim is to keep the Chopras happy. Adi too is ensuring that his protégé’s talents don’t go unnoticed. In fact the makers are already thinking of incorporating his mimicry in Ladies v/s Ricky Behl.
Wondering what more tricks Ranveer’s got up his sleeve…
