Mixing business and pleasure? No, thanks
It has been speculated for quite sometime now that pairing the newly married Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza together in the upcoming Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya has to be something more than just a coincidence. Was the casting engineered to create more publicity for the film, or was the release date timed to coincide with their nuptials?
Riteish, however, says it was the other way around altogether, and prior to signing the film, he was having second thoughts about working with the girl he’s dating in real life. “It is one thing to be in love in real life and totally different to bring the right chemistry on screen. There have been too many real life jodis in the past who have failed to create any magic whatsoever on screen,” explains a close friend of the actor.
“Indeed, today’s audiences have much higher demands and constant exposure to the media means even real life couples have to do something extraordinary to work,” explains an industry veteran. And the indifferent luck enjoyed by Saif-Kareena in Kurbaan, Abhi-Ash in Raavan or Salman-Katrina in Yuvvraaj would seem to bear this out.
But eventually, the power of the script and the chance of working opposite each other won through, and both consented to the film.
