Mom’s the word for Rani
She may not quite enjoy the unrivalled status she once did in B’town, but trust a queen to never give up her starry airs. Rani Mukherjee, who is only just beginning to get her Bollywood career back up and running, recently threw a fit on the sets of a film shoot in Aamby Valley. Apparently, the food served to the unit was not good enough for Rani.
Rani is required to be away from Mumbai for almost a month, as she shoots for Anurag Kashyap’s Aiyya, and those who know the actress, say it was difficult for her to adjust to the idea of having to do without home-cooked food. “Rani is a huge foodie,” a friend of the actress reveals. “She simply loves the traditional Bengali fare, cooked under the supervision of her mother.”
So when she found the food on the Aiyya sets not quite to her liking, she promptly called Mummy to the rescue. A source from the sets reveals, “Her mother, Krishna Mukherjee, drove down all the way from Mumbai to Aamby Valley to ensure that her darling beti got the wholesome food she so craved.”
The unit hasn’t commented on what they think about Rani’s diva-like behaviour. For now, they’re just happy that there’s a constant supply of macher jhol on the sets!
