New action star arrives

His debut outing Force had got him rave reviews as an action star. As Vidyut Jamwal’s Commando continues to do decent business, the young actor has enough reasons to be elated.

Were you apprehensive about how Commando would be perceived?
Honestly, I was not thinking so much. I was through with the film and was satisfied with what I had done. I am proud of the fact that people have loved me and the film. And even if that hadn’t happened, I would have continued to work on more action films.

How did you manage such gravity defying stunts without wires or VFX involved?
I have to credit my team for that. Moreover, to perform on something like that, one must enjoy performing such action. I often meet people who tell me that I should do romantic movies as well. But I am clear that it is going to be mainly action for me.

Any particular filmmakers you want to work with besides Vipul Shah?
I always wanted to work with Tigmanshu Dhulia and now I am in his Bullet Raja. I would also love to work with Rajkumar Santoshi. The kind of dramatic action with emotion that he brings in his films is lethal.
