The new SRK-Kajol

Last week, we informed you how Kunal Kohli wanted his Teri Meri Kahani lead actor Shahid Kapoor to be the new age Aamir Khan. Now comes news that Kunal may give Shahid a new role model to aspire towards: Shah Rukh Khan. The makers of TMK want the film’s lead pair, Shahid and Priyanka Chopra, to be the new age Shah Rukh and Kajol. So if the pressure of living up to Aamir Khan’s poetry spouting wasn’t enough for Shahid, he also has to recreate the magic of SRK-Kajol, that too with a girl he once dated!
“They worked together in Kaminey, but they had exactly eight scenes together. In TMK, they have 78,” informs Kohli on his decision to groom Shahid-PC to becoming SRK-Kajol successors. “I grew up watching Yash Chopra films and he’s my idol as far as filmmaking is concerned. I want the romance in my films to also be like the ones seen in Yash Raj blockbusters. So I want my heroes and heroines to be like the mushy ones seen in Yash Raj films.”
But spare a thought for the poor actors who suddenly have great shoes to fill, while managing to retain enough chemistry with the one they once dated.
