No cuts for Emraan
While most of his contemporaries cringe at the prospect of their films getting an “A” certificate from the censors, Emraan Hashmi is actually praying for one. The actor says that it will be a disaster if the contents of the film get chopped off by the Censor Board. “It will be a disaster if there are any cuts proposed. And without cuts the film is bound to get an ‘A’ certificate. As long as the film retains its original content, I am fine with that,” says Emraan.
Elucidating further on the film’s content, the actor says, “There’s a thin line of difference between erotica and vulgarity, and Mohit (Suri) has taken care of it perfectly. He knows how to give a classy treatment to bold subjects. However, Murder 2 goes beyond the sex quotient. There are quite a few disturbing scenes in the film.”
So does that mean that this film is many notches ahead of its original version in both sex and violence? A diplomatic Emraan promptly replies, “That’s something the audience will have to decide. We have stayed true to the script and haven’t made any compromises, even if it means the audience will have to go through some moments of discomfort. We think that this time the audience is ready for something bold like this.”
