No delay in SRK’s schedule
Shah Rukh Khan may currently be emoting up a storm in the valleys of Kashmir and the dizzying heights of Ladakh, but back in B’town, there have been rumours aplenty that the Badshah’s shoot schedules for upcoming projects like Chennai Express and Happy New Year have been affected as a consequence, and that directors Rohit Shetty and Farah Khan respectively, are in for a long wait.
“The speculation started because the Kashmir-Ladakh schedule of SRK’s film with Yash Chopra still hasn’t ended and the team will be busy with the promotions for the film for the next month at the very least. Naturally, that got everyone wondering when SRK would start work on Chennai Express, and subsequently on Happy New Year,” says a trade insider.
But sources close to the superstar have asserted that there is no delay in the offing. “Travelling to Kashmir and Ladakh for Yashji’s film was allowed for in Shah Rukh’s schedule. Chennai Express was to be started only by the end of September. That hasn’t been affected in any way,” clarified an aide of Rohit Shetty. Rohit, when contacted, also asserted that Chennai Express will go on the floors on September 27 as originally planned.
Happy New Year too, will be launched as planned. “We are definitely starting work by the end of the year, with a five or six day schedule in December. After the Christmas and New Year celebrations, we move full steam ahead from January onwards,” confirmed Farah Khan.
Of course this means that the audience will be treated to an SRK double-bill soon enough. Exciting!
