No licence to thrill?
Let other action heroes blow up a record number of cars, Agent Vinod, a.k.a Saif Ali Khan, won’t be doing so in his upcoming spy thriller.
The reason: Director Sriram Raghavan has put a cap on the number of car explosions, chase sequences etc. Sriram and Saif were firm that they didn’t want to descend into “action porn” territory, our sources told us.
“Of course, there are quite a few action sequences in Agent Vinod because of the genre that it belongs to,” an aide of Sriram’s divulged. “But even though, much like James Bond, Vinod has a licence to kill, he doesn’t want to abuse his licence to thrill! While working on the film, Sriram and Saif would constantly joke about not venturing into action porn.”
Confirming the khabar, Sriram said, “How long can you see cars getting blown up or racing each other? Just like porn, you can enjoy it for a while, but certainly not for an extended period of time.”
