No price hike for me
John Abraham is in a happy place now. His films are doing well, his personal life looks secure and he has quite a few meaty projects to look forward to.
People close to the actor are trying to convince him to hike his remuneration as an actor, now that he has proved himself a bankable star. The staggering success of his debut production venture has furthermore reaffirmed his position in the industry, so much so that people are even comparing him to the likes of Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and the Khans.
But John is not keen on entertaining the idea of revising his remuneration. “I think it’s foolish to hike your price after a few hit films. I have been making decent money and have also been receiving good film offers. So why break the flow now?” says John. Turning producer has also opened new vistas for him. He adds, “Now that I am a producer, I will ensure that I am reasonable enough with my producers so that they can make a successful film in a given budget.” John is certainly not the one to get carried away by success. “Good films and good actors will always give good results, no matter the individual price bracket,” says John. In an industry that shamelessly gloats over their ` 8-9 crore pay packets, it’s refreshing to see someone not subscribing to herd mentality.
