No script, only textbook
Actress Divya Dutta had a nostalgic experience while shooting for Stanley Ka Dabba. The movie is a brainchild of award winning director-actor-producer Amole Gupte of Taare Zameen Par fame.
Amol offered Divya the role because she had proved her potential to play varied characters.
Interestingly when Divya asked for a script, Amol handed over a school text-book instead. Yes, you read it right. Instead of some hundred pages of a professional script, an academic textbook was given to her, during a shoot in one of the schools of Mumbai.
Divya, who was startled at first, soon realised the reason, given the innovative and creative outputs of Amole.
It was because she was shooting with a lot of young school kids in a classroom. Hence the textbook instead of a script. The experience also left the actress nostalgic about her school days. Well, talk about working differently!
Now to know how the textbook helped Divya prepare for her role, is something we will have to wait for.
Ever since Taare Zameen Par which was eventually taken over by Aamir Khan, Amol Gupte has shown an inclination towards making films for children. Besides direction Stanley Ka Dabba will also be produced by him.
