Not an item!

She’s been called a lot of things before — the queen bee, dancing diva, legend etc. But the latest tag — item girl — does not seem to have gone down too well with Madhuri Dixit.

The actress who grooved to Ghagra with Ranbir Kapoor in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani will now be seen gyrating to a song in her upcoming release, Ram Leela but doesn’t appreciate being called an item girl while doing so.
“My passion for dancing isn’t new. I am not comfortable being called an ‘item girl,’ she says. The actress was overheard talking to a few industry seniors when she said, “I am proud to have been associated with so many songs and films in my career and received such warm acceptance. But you can’t call these item numbers.”
