The suspense surrounding the making of Mr India 2 has been building up ever since Boney Kapoor announced the project. Like the original, the sequel too will be helmed by Shekhar Kapoor. While the sequel to the 80s blockbuster is one of he most awaited films next year, for Boney the film is special for different reasons.

“It was during the shooting of Mr India that I fell in love with my wife Sridevi. I wooed her for 15 years before she agreed to marry me,” Boney says. It goes without saying that Sridevi will be a part of the sequel too. “Yes, Sri will play a small cameo in the film. For emotional reasons I cannot make the film without her,” Boney adds.
While he confirms Sridevi’s role in the film, Boney denies rumours about casting Salman as Mogambo. “How can Salman play Mogambo?” he retorts. “Honestly, if I had my way, I’d cast Salman in every film but that isn’t possible. I would like to clarify that there is no Mogambo in the sequel. I am not remaking Mr India. It’s a sequel and I would like to keep it that way.”
