PC loves working with Shahid

There’s a good reason why relationship experts always advise against dating the one you work with. If the relationship sours, you’re stuck with a colleague you once were romantically involved with. Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor are now realising this the hard way, while filming Teri Meri Kahaani.
PC, though, admits that whatever their personal problems, they are professionally in a good place. The two seem to have ironed out their differences and are really looking forward to recreating the on-screen chemistry that was appreciated in Kaminey. “On the sets, we are two very different people,” she says explaining how they managed to achieve a middle ground.
Interestingly, it was while the shooting of this film began that the two called it quits. And while there were a few problems initially, PC says it has always been smooth sailing ever since. “Unlike Kaminey, where there were just a few scenes with each other, we have a lot more scenes here. And also, because we have a lot more on-screen time, we realised how different our styles of working are,” she adds.
TMK, it’s said, is a film based across a century. While Shahid is gung ho about his character based in the early 20th century, Priyanka’s character will fast forward by exactly 100 years, to be set in contemporary India. Also, given all the problems in her personal life, PC is banking on this film to bail her out now. “Time and again, Priyanka has proven her mettle as an actress. She is now hopeful that the success of this film opposite Shahid will prove her position again in Bollywood,” a source adds.
With or without a certain Shah Rukh Khan, may we add.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
