Police to assume custody of B’wood

Don’t be surprised if you see the cops descend down on movie theatres! Over the next few months, three Bollywood films centred around the police force are supposed to hit cinemas. And what’s more, all three — Sanjay Dutt’s Department, Sonu Sood’s Maximum and the sequel to Ab Tak Chappan — promise a “realistic” look at the functioning of the men in khaki.

“All three will explore the mindset of a cop in a serious manner. Moreover, Sanju, Nana and Sonu are all playing encounter specialists in their respective films,” reveals an observer.
Sonu, however, clarifies that his film is unique enough to hold its own. “Our narrative is very different from the others,” he says, “It’s about the mindset of cops who were roped in for encounters and how their life took a different journey altogether.”
