One doesn’t know what Neil Nitin Mukesh has been up to professionally of late, but the man seems to be doing fantastically well on the personal front. He’s been dating Sonal Chauhan for some time now, and what’s more, he just bought himself a sprawling, sea-facing apartment in South Mumbai.

The 4BHK flat in the posh Marine Drive area, sources tell us, is Neil’s first major investment, and an attempt to move out of the shadow of his family's famous legacy and create an identity for himself. “I am proud of my lineage, but I want to create my own place in the industry. I want to be independent and successful,” he had said a while ago, and it’s looking like this could be the first step towards this goal.
“He has always been a South Mumbai boy. It was inevitable that he would invest in a property that will be like a home away from home. This is a perfect investment in that regard,” says a source.
And though the area could count as among the costliest in the country, the actor didn’t refrain from spending big for it.
