Prabhu Deva turns mentor
Prabhu Deva recently turned mentor for producer Kumar Taurani’s son Girish. He worked with the debutant actor for a good year and a half before their film Ramaiya Vastavaiya went on the floors.
“When Girish had auditioned for the film, Prabhu loved what he saw, but instantly knew that there were a few rough edges that needed to be worked upon. So he suggested that Girish spend some more time grooming himself, especially his dance skills before he starts shooting,” says a source.
The southern star apparently handpicked 25 different songs for Girish to practice on. “In fact, he continued to track the progress of the young actor even as he was shooting for his film Rowdy Rathore, and assigned a few choreographers to prepare Girish for the role,” adds the source.
When contacted, Kumar Taurani confirmed saying, “It was wonderful on Prabhu Deva’s part to take so much interest in grooming a debutant like Girish. He could see that Girish’s body had rhythm and moved to the beats, but he wanted to take it to another level. The results are worth it.”
