‘Princely’ Neil to turn Rajput next
It’s official. The sequel to Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster is underway, and it will be Neil Nitin Mukesh who has been signed on to replace Randeep Hooda, who played the main villain in the original. Randeep’s character died at the end of the film, and while Jimmy Shergill and Mahie Gill will continue from where they left off, Neil will be the new entrant. But while many expected Neil to play a gangster, like Randeep did, this isn’t quite the case.
“Tigmanshu doesn’t want the film to bear an exact similarity with the first part. He wants fresh characterisation to be added which would take the film to another level,” says a source. So Neil, instead of playing a gangster like Randeep, will be playing a prince with Rajputana blood.”
And while the makers remain tight-lipped, Neil’s role is expected to have shades of grey. What seems to have sealed the deal for him, apparently, were his “princely looks”, which greatly impressed Tigmanshu at a recent fashion event.
