Ramu reaps Sanju’ Agneepath effect

After his successful turn in Agneepath, all those filmmakers who’d signed on Sanjay Dutt when his luck was down, are now set to reap the benefits of his resurgent popularity. Ram Gopal Varma is one of them.
“When Ramu had signed Sanjay for Department a year ago, there wasn’t the excitement of being associated with an actor who has delivered a blockbuster. Neither Ramu nor Sanju had had a hit for quite some time. Then again, with casting flip-flops resulting in the ouster of Abhishek Bachchan and the inclusion of Rana Dagubatti, there was a lot of bad blood that the project created,” a khabru in the know says.
The equations have changed after Sanju’s turn in Agneepath. “Suddenly there is a renewed interest in the film, and since this will be Sanju’s next release after Agneepath, the makers have a renewed marketing plan being laid out to take maximum advantage of his newfound popularity,” our source adds.
