Ranbir low on confidence

Ranbir Kapoor is the nation’s heartthrob today, and given the lineage that he comes from, one would have thought it has always been the case. Movie star good looks and confidence, after all, really comes with the turf for a Kapoor. But Ranbir says it wasn’t always the case, and until very recently, he had been very unsure about his looks. “I’m still not a very confident person,” he says with a wry grin. “It takes a lot of time and effort from my end to even put up a brave front.”
So if you see him prancing about on the screen without a bother in the world, it’s all just an act. “What you see on screen is not real. Like I said, it takes an effort that I have to put in, from time to time,” he reveals.
What he ultimately did to get over the confidence issues, he says, was draw inspiration from his grandfather Raj Kapoor. Speaking on the eve of Raj Kapoor’s death anniversary, Ranbir said he still looks up to the late thespian, though he didn’t get to spend a lot of time with him.
