Randeep is excited to work with his mentor

Randeep Hooda, who debuted in Mira Nair’s Monsoon Wedding, is visibly excited about sharing the screen space with his idol and mentor Naseeruddin Shah. He will be seen alongside the veteran actor in his upcoming film John Day. “I started off as a theatre actor and have worked with Naseer bhai as part of his Motley theatre group. He brings out the best in every performer and I have had some of my best shots because of his presence on the sets. Working with him reminds one of how important it is to be dedicated to one’s craft rather than chase commercial success,” he says.
Reminiscing about his early days in acting he adds, “Naseer bhai had supported me during my theatrical debut as a writer. The play was directed by his wife Ratnaji. It is overwhelming to be working with my mentor again.”
