Rani steps out of the September race
Just when we thought that Rani Mukerji is all geared up to gain her place as a leading lady in the film industry, Rani has backed out of any possible competition.
Rani, whose Aiyya was planning to add competition to the women-dominated September, has opted out of the race. The film has been postponed to October, hence leaving the arena open for Kareena Kapoor, Sridevi and Preity Zinta to fight it out.
“Aiyaa was earlier planned for September 28 release. That was just a week after a three way battle between Kareena (Heroine), Sridevi (English Vinglish) and Preity (Ishkq In Paris) would have ensued. This would have been a very poor decision for the producers. Hence Rani has now quietly decided to move on and would now release a month later on October 24,” says a source.
But that may not be the only problem for Rani. While all the three actresses are going out of their way to promote their films, Rani has been keeping mum. The source, however, says that it was always planned this way. “This film is like a band mutthi for Rani. She will start talking about it when the time is right. There is no rush,” added the source.
We are waiting for that as well Rani. Till then, we would contend ourselves with the other three heroines and their fireworks.
