Rani is on a weight loss spree for Mardani

Rani Mukerjee has been asked to shed those few extra pounds for her upcoming film Mardani. Apparently, she has been assigned a trainer to make her fit for the action scenes in the films. The last time Rani took to serious training was for Aditya Chopra’s Dil Bole Hadippa where she acted opposite Shahid Kapoor.
“Rani is known for being a perfectionist. It is her passion to get into the skin of the character that makes her take up such challenges,” says our source. Mardani is being touted as a hardcore action venture and hence it requires the protagonist (Rani) to look lean and fit. Since Rani has become overtly selective about her films, she wants to ensure she gives her 100 per cent to Mardani.
From following a high protein diet to religiously clocking in gym hours, Rani seems adamant to nail it.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
