Ranvir introduces the tiger

The trailer of Ek Tha Tiger, which was launched with much fanfare at the screening of Ishaqzaade yesterday, has tinseltown raving about the next big blockbuster. But what the makers are still not ready to reveal is the identity of the trailer’s narrator. One would imagine Salman Khan, the film’s undisputed superstar, would do the honours, but it’s a most surprising choice: It’s Ranvir Shorey’s voice introducing the film.
“Since it’s just a teaser, there weren’t to be any dialogues in it. But director Kabir Khan didn’t want to unveil the film with just visuals. So they decided to go ahead with a voiceover as well,” says a source. And since the trailer involved introducing Salman’s character, he couldn’t have done the voiceover himself.
Which led the trail to Ranvir. “He really worked on his voice, pitch and modulation to ensure the right impact was created. He didn’t want to make it sound overtly filmy, but rather maintain a balance between stylish, subtle and hard-hitting. The impact is such that many believe it’s Salman himself who’s doing the voiceover,” says a close associate.
