Ra.One SRK’s own Avatar?
Shah Rukh Khan couldn’t quite match up to James Cameron who spent twelve years of his life, making Avatar; he fell six years short in his Ra.One journey. And now that the countdown has begun for his sci-fi superhero flick, everyone is wondering whether the results will indeed be a la Avatar in living up to expectations.
An industry veteran who has closely followed SRK’s journey in the film says, “Shah Rukh has never spent so much time working on a single film. Ra.One seems to be his very own Avatar." A source connected to the film, says, “SRK has not compromised on any front; be it scaling, budget or time, no restrictions have been imposed. Now that Ra.One is ready for release and that too in 3D, expectations are gargantum as the film’s budget is said to have crossed the `150-crore mark. And with audience warming up to VFX laden masterpieces like Avatar, Ra.One has a heavy task at hand.” Director Anubhav Sinha dismisses all comparison with the James Cameron masterpiece. “He is a great director, although intrinsically his stories have a Bollywood feel to them. But with Shah Rukh having spent six whole years making this film and also returning on screen as an actor after 20 months (his last release was My Name Is Khan), the end result has to be extraordinary,” he says. They better be, SRK.
