Ready to romance Bebo as bodyguard

After delivering three back-to-back masala blockbusters — Wanted, Dabangg and now Ready— Salman Khan will be soon seen a lover boy in his next release Bodyguard. “Due to the kind of image Salman has created for himself through his recent films, the audience expects and likes to see him in a certain avatar. But Bodyguard is different altogether — it’s more of a love story,” informs a source.
Maybe that’s why Kareena didn’t mind getting on board, because the makers had promised her that it would be a performance oriented love story rather than a typical Salman show reel of comedy, drama and action. Kareena’s last two outings with Salman in the form of Kyunki and Main Aur Mrs Khanna were disasters at the box office, which explains why Bebo is desperate for this film to work out. But the audience will get to see a fair share of the Salman brand of action because he plays Kareena’s bodyguard in the film.
“Salman’s fans have certain expectations from his films and that can’t be ignored. Also, since this is an Eid release, a certain amount of masala is definitely needed. But the audience should be prepared to see a different side to their hero. The story is also an emotional one,” adds the source. Expectations are already piling up since the film has proven itself a winning formula, twice over. (It has been made in both Tamil and Malayalam). Surely at the end of this venture there will be an excess of Salman, but the rate at which he is going, maybe no one will complain.
