RGV finds real-life haunted house
When it comes to making things spooky, leave it to Ram Gopal Varma. The director whose sequel to his 2003 hit Bhoot, Bhoot Returns is all set for release, will be relying on more than just special effects and screaming faces to scare the audiences.
According to sources from the unit, the house where Bhoot Returns was shot was haunted in real life as well. “The first owner of the house had committed suicide in the house. But what really makes it spooky is that it has a very eerie feel in the night,” says the source, adding, “We were quite spooked after getting to know this. We used to try and stay together for night shoots. It wasn’t really the house that did anything, but the eeriness to it continues.”
RGV, however, didn’t know the story behind the house until he finalised the deal. “We got to know the house has a history after we started shooting for the movie. The cast and crew did get a little spooked and scared when they came to know the truth,” says the director. Ask RGV if he felt scared too, pat comes the reply, “I was too busy trying to scare so never got time to get scared myself.”
