Ronit Roy bags a role in Kashyap’s next

Anuraag Kashyap surprised everyone when he signed Ronit Roy for Udaan, because he usually sticks to his clique when it comes to choosing people he works with. But his gamble paid off in style and Udaan went on to become highly successful both in India as well as in festivals abroad.
So this time round, it’s hardly surprising that Kashyap has teamed up with Roy again for his ambitious project Bombay Velvet, in which he will be working with Oscar winner Danny Boyle.
A source close to them says, “Ronit and Anuraag have been staying in the same building for the past ten years. And it was the latter who convinced Ronit to work in his film. And after Udaan’s resounding success, and Ronit having won a few awards as well, Anuraag wants him to be a part of Bombay Velvet. Big names like Aamir Khan and John Abraham are already being considered for the film. However, Ronit has been roped in to play a key role and he himself is pretty excited about it.”
Let’s hope that the magic of Slumdog Millionaire is repeated again.
