Saif plays it safe with Eros for Agent Vinod

After the success of his debut home production Love Aaj Kal, Saif Ali Khan has tied up again with Eros International to produce his second film Agent Vinod. The film — Saif and Kareena’s third outing as a couple after Tashan and Kurbaan — went on the floors on May 28.
The news comes after rumours that Saif had cut all business ties with Eros. The industry grapevine ascribed the “fallout” to budget issues. Apparently Eros, the official financiers of the film, wanted to rework the budget of the film and cut down numbers, something that the producers from Illuminati Films, Saif Ali Khan and Dinesh Vijan, were not happy about. The producers were not willing to compromise on the film and Cinemax was named the official presenter of Agent Vinod.
Rubbishing rumours of a fallout, Dinesh Vijan said Agent Vinod was always an Eros International venture. “I don’t know how the news came about,” he said. “We are proud to be associated with Eros International. Love Aaj Kal had a successful run at the box office and we hope to repeat the same with Agent Vinod.”
Directed by Sriram Raghavan, Agent Vinod will be shot across various locales in Mumbai, Morocco, Amsterdam, London, Prague and Delhi. Pritam is composing the music for the film. The film reportedly had a lot of action sequences, including ones in which Kareena is shown fighting Saif. Mr and Mrs Smith anyone?
Eros managing director Sunil Lulla promised audiences a slick flick with Agent Vinod.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
