Sajid ropes in Kishore’s son
Sajid Khan, who is remaking Himmatwala, has roped in Kishore Kumar’s son Amit Kumar to recreate the late singer’s chartbuster track Naino Mein Sapna.
Our source says, “Since the makers already had the rights to the song, they could have retained the original version. However, Sajid felt it would be a good idea to recreate the era gone by with a similar voice. And Amit fit the bill perfectly.”
Fortunately, for Sajid and his team, Amit Kumar, who rarely sings nowadays, didn’t hesitate to take up the offer. The results have matched Sajid’s expectations with Amit bringing in the right quality in his voice to match lead actor Ajay Devgn’s character in the film.
A close associate of the director says, “This is a happy situation for Sajid. He’s very particular about the music of his films. For the song I Don’t Know What To Do in Housefull, he wanted a voice that resembled Shabbir Kumar and eventually managed to bring the singer himself. And now that he wanted a voice like Kishore Kumar’s, he managed to convince his son. He has been two times lucky.”
Must say, Sajid’s quite the himmatwala when it comes to his films.
