Salman’s bone of contention

If you thought Salman Khan’s Being Human foundation would stop with the good work after Iifa, think again. The star’s charity is now taking up the cause of bone marrow donation, which may just provide a ray of hope for people afflicted with leukaemia and tuberculosis. Bone marrow donation also impacts stem cell development research.
Not content with just making a noise about it, Salman in fact, has gone a step further and decided to become a bone marrow donor himself. He is also encouraging family and friends to do the same.
A source revealed, “Through his Being Human Foundation, Salman has decided to raise funds for the cause and also donate his own bone marrow. He has been urging his friends to join in the cause and has even decided to hold camps to spread awareness on the issue.”
Apparently, Salman first came across the issue when he was surfing the Net and saw the dismal figures for bone marrow donation. He also realised that awareness regarding the issue was very low. Salman now hopes to bring at least a small measure of change.
“Salman has expressed his keenness to become a donor himself. Bone marrow donation is a cause that is paid very little attention to in India. Salman wants to change that through the Being Human Foundation,” the source said.
