Sanjay’s jinxed filmi love story

All our dreams never come true and that’s ok, but what is not ok is when the dreams come true for someone else. It’s really upsetting. I feel for Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He has always nurtured the dream of making a film on the legendary love story of Bajirao and Mastani. Every time he gets his “perfect” cast together, something goes wrong and the plan has to be shelved.

He first planned to make it with Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai during the peak of their romance. When they broke up, so did his dream. He then revived his dream and decided to cast Kareena as the beautiful Mastani. But Kareena’s then row of flops put paid to the venture even after hush-hush photo-shoots were done. Just when Sanjay was coming to terms with the fact that his dream project is going to remain just that — a distant dream, he gets some horrid news. Now the famed love story of the Peshwa warrior and the nautch girl Mastani is being revived once again by someone else!! Yes, it’s being done in Marathi on the small screen. (Another Marathi serial on the same subject made some years ago starring Ashvini Bhave as Mastani was really good too). Poor Bhansali’s dream project is as jinxed as the love story of Bajirao and Mastani! Maybe he should concentrate on a happy ending where everyone gets whom they want for a change.
