Sanjay ended Sonam’s hopes

Sonam Kapoor isn’t in the happiest frame of mind these days. The reason: After talking about a film that she would be working on with Sanjay Leela Bhansali on a public forum, the auteur went ahead and signed Kareena Kapoor for the project instead. Sonam was understandably heartbroken, and sources close to the actress say she isn’t too happy with her former mentor.
“Sonam was banking on this film,” says one of Sonam’s friends. “She needs a director who’ll resurrect her career and give it a new lease of life. Losing out to Kareena was a blow, and it has affected Sonam’s hopes. She is very disheartened.”
Industry sources, while sympathising with the actress, say it was none too wise on her part to talk about the project before it was finalised. “Sonam’s a good actress, but the one thing she absolutely must keep in mind is not to discuss a film before the producers have made an official announcement.”
