Sanjay finds his Baji Rao finally

Soon after the release of his magnum opus Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Sanjay Leela Bhansali wanted to start working on his costume drama Bajirao Mastani. At that time it was rumoured that Sanjay wanted to repeat the hit pair of Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai in the title roles. Unfortunately, the project never took off. In 2011, he planned to revive it, this time with Kareena Kapoor but in vain, yet again.
However, 2013 seems to be the lucky year and looks like SLB has finally managed to crack it. Word has it that Bajirao Mastani will take off next year. “He has been in talks with Ajay Devgn and Katrina Kaif. With a fresh new pairing, there is every chance that Sanjay’s film will kick start soon,” says our source.
While Ajay has worked with Bhansali before in Hum Dil De… this will the first time that he’ll team up with Katrina Kaif. Besides creating a new romantic pair on screen, the film will also underline Bhansali’s determination and his passion for the film. “It’s a film that he has been planning for over a decade. Bhansali never lost hope,” adds the source. While Ajay seems to have given his consent for the film, Katrina is yet to sign on the dotted line. Safe to assume this one will be one of the most awaited flicks next year. Well, good things indeed come to those who wait.
